Daikin

Daikin
According to them, Daikin is the “World’s No. 1” air conditioning company. It is true that they sell more air conditioners and HVAC products in more countries than anybody else, but does that really make them number one in the world? I mean, yeah, technically it does I guess. So, they’ve got that going for them, which is nice.

With a start over 100 years ago making radiator tubes for aircraft in Japan, Daikin made its name by creating some of Japan’s firsts. From the mifujirator (a refrigeration unit used by the Japanese Navy in the late 1930s) to the original commercial package air conditioner in the early 1950s, Daikin brought cooling comfort to the forefront for Japan and eventually the world.

With their first marketed residential window AC unit hitting the market just before the 1960s, Daikin continued to push the envelope well into the 1980s and 1990s with additional advances for the company. Between Japan’s first commercial split-type AC and the world’s first split system with humidification included, Daikin is the reason we enjoy many quality of life inclusions we know and love today.
