The air handler hangs easily on virtually any wall. The condenser is relatively lightweight with a compact footprint. Together they can deliver the air comfort you want to virtually any room in your home.
Will The MrCool DIY Mini-Split Heat & Cool?
Yes, every MRCOOL DIY Ductless Mini-Split is a heat pump. That means it can function like an air conditioner to provide cooling, then reverse cycle when needed to generate heat.
How Do I Hookup The Electrical?
The interior air handler portion of the MRCOOL DIY Ductless Mini-Split will be wired to the outside condenser. The outside condenser must in turn be wired to a disconnect box positioned somewhere on the exterior of your home. This kind of service will be simple for any electrician to perform.
Do I Have To Worry About Refrigerant?
Not at all! The MRCOOL DIY Ductless Mini-Split uses eco-safe R410A refrigerant. MRCOOL charges each system with this refrigerant at the factory. You won't have to add anything during installation. Best of all, the refrigerant lines use special "No-Vac" connectors that plug in easily. This prevents contamination from outside air and seals in the refrigerant.
What Do I Do With Excess Refrigerant Line?

I've heard that Mr. COOL support is really lacking. If I have problems with installing or operating a mini split I bought from you can I call you for support or do I call the manufacturer? Are the warranties still good if I install the unit myself?
Generally a 12k unit would be considered suitable for that space. Though that's a best guess. You might need more or less depending on local climate, insulation, and other factors.
I am interested in installing a 2 zone unit in an upstairs having two bedrooms with sloping ceilings. Wall space is limited. Is there a problem with placing the air handler units approximately 24" off of the floor? What about under windows at the end of each room?
Since the air handlers push air out from underneath the unit, we would not recommend this, as you would not receive appropriate airflow from the system if it were that close to the ground. You can technically still do this, however, you just may not get the best possible performance with an installation like this.
If the combined BTU capacity of the two air handlers equals at least 2/3rds of the condensers BTU capacity, then you can operate the system with only two air handlers connected.
