With an energy efficient scroll compressor and multi-speed ECM indoor blower motor, the unit can reliably reduce utility costs. After successfully passing a rigorous testing process, it is AHRI certified and ETL listed. In addition, it meets cabinet air leak requirements when tested in accordance with ASHRAE standard 193. Installation of the 3.5 Ton 13.4 SEER2 80k BTU Goodman Air Conditioner & Gas Package Unit is easy for any HVAC technician thanks to the fully charged 15-foot of tubing, eliminating the need for vacuuming. There are two-inch base rails along the bottom for easy handling, and the unit can be installed at ground level or on a rooftop. Another convenient installation feature is the ability to install in horizontal or downflow applications, thus saving time and money by not needing to manipulate the existing ductwork. Since the unit is entirely self-contained, the only connections needed for installation are the supply and return ducts, the gas line, low and high voltage wiring, and the drain connection. The UV resistant, heavy-gauge galvanized steel cabinet has an architectural gray powder paint finish. After a 500-hour salt spray test, the cabinet received approval to withstand the elements for those in areas of high salinity. The copper tube and enhanced aluminum fin condenser coil are also corrosion resistant. Also included is aluminum foil-facing internal insulation reinforced with fiberglass scrim, a steel louver coil guard, and a contactor with lug connection and ground lug connection. In order to operate at the highest level, the unit offers a direct spark ignition system. It includes a microprocessor-based control for the entire ignition sequence, all blower operation, and all safety circuits, complete with self-diagnostics. It also features power-assisted combustion and the system can be easily converted to operate on propane with an optional LP conversion kit.
