Overview

The GeoCool GCHPV048 Geothermal Heat Pump Vertical Package Unit is one of the most efficient and effective heating and air conditioning systems available on the market today. A ground-source heat pump like the GCHPV048 is perfectly capable of replacing the air conditioner and furnace combo most Americans use today for winter and summer air comfort. However, unlike a traditional furnace and air conditioner, a geothermal heat pump is highly efficient. They're so efficient that the US Department of Energy estimates a typical geo unit will cut many utility bills by up to 65%!

What American homeowner wouldn't want to reduce their electricity expenses by up to 65% without sacrificing an iota of comfort? Most people would be perfectly happy with a great HVAC unit that is so efficient that many homeowners who use it pay off the cost of their installation in only a few short years.

Okay, geothermal heat pumps are great, but what makes the GeoCool GCHPV048 such a superior value? There are many ground-source brands on the market, after all. However, few come with the quality and features you will find in a GeoCool system.

This particular GeoCool comes standard with a Copeland 2-Speed UltraTech Scroll Compressor for maximum efficiency performance. It has a variable-speed ECM DEC Star Blower to provide great air flow while reducing energy consumption even further. Then there are the Flo-Link double o-ring fittings, Dallas microprocessor, freeze protection, LED indicators, high and low pressure switches, and more.

I have looked through the entire installation manual. There is no mention of aux/emergency relay contacts. Does the control for the electric strip heaters go directly to the thermostat?
I have this installed and it is working great. When I measure the input and output temperatures, with an outdoor temperature of about 100 degrees F, and thermostat at 76 degrees, I have read as high as 97.9 out and 90.9 in. the lines are buried at 8 feet depth. I would have thought that it would be much lower. Is that normal? Also, does anyone know what the normal water temperatures for in and out water for both summer and winter? Also, I am unsure if I should break off the freeze protection strip on the motherboard here in Maryland. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Does this unit have a desuperheater for hot water?
trying to figure out what a geothermal unit would cost to run. using existing well water being drawn from 300 ft on a 1 hp motor.
how much water would need to be pumped. house is about 2000 sf log cabin at 3500 ft in zip 37687.
currently use about 1200 gallons of propane at $2.75per gallon. electricity costs about .13 per kwh.

ive used your company for yrs on various projects - hoping you have the calculator to figure out cost to run system
What disconnect switch would you recommend to put at the unit? The main breaker is 60 amp, so I'm thinking the disconnect should be 100 amp, single phase, 240 volt?
What is the availability of the 4 ton geocool heat pump with a despuper heater, left side return.
Are these units Energy Star certified when used with a closed group loop?
I can't seem to find it's cfm?
Will be buying the heat pump soon for our geothermal system, is it possible to get the dimensions of 4 Ton 28.6 EER 2 Stage GeoCool Geothermal Heat Pump Vertical Package Unit so that i can plan the logistics of placement? thanks
I have an artesian well capable of supplying over 10 gpm at 30psi. I need about 3.5 Tons of cooling. The incoming water is about 70 degrees year round and the system would be used 95% of the time for cooling. I do not see any requirements in the installation guide requiring a pressure regulator. Is that integral to the unit?

Thx
I also would like the LRA for GCHPV048TGTANXX and GCHPV048TGTANXX. Are soft starts kits available for each of these units? If so, what is the resulting LRA for each unit?

Thank you,
John
Do you install the pump what is installation price.I have exiting geo thermal system i jus want to upgrade the pump.my cell is 9148061743
How many gallons of water does this unit use per minute? I am looking for one that uses water. Please advise.
The compressor is two stage. This means the required flow rate of ground water should have two GPM rates. Does the unit control the flow rate?
Does Geo Cool offer an electric strip backup option for their Geo-thermal units? If so, can that option be purchased through Ingrams?
My questions is about the freeze tab, which I broke off. There is the proper amount of antifreeze in the system as well. My question is that with the tab broken off, it says that the unit freeze setpoint is lowered to 20 degrees. It is super cold here now so the unit is running a good bit, which is no problem. I've seen the incoming water come in at about 40 degrees, but the outgoing water leaving at in the 20's. My question is, will my unit shut down if the water temp gets to 20 degrees? Can someone help me understand this fully? Thanks so much. I'm so happy with this unit so far. It has really worked tremendously, and lowered our bill a lot.
My geothermal desuperheater us about 25 feet from the hot water tank. If I insulate the lines, will that work?
When setting up the thermostat, how many heating and cooling stages would this be?
After how long should the second stage of cooling turn on?
