Combined with the DIY condenser, the 12k BTU MrCool DIY 3rd Gen Ductless Air Handler is so easy to install that you can do it yourself. As one of the only air handlers truly designed for amateur installation, it has a 12,000 BTU capacity and can heat and cool up to 500 square feet. It will work quietly to seamlessly fit into your lifestyle without noisy interruptions as it helps keep your air clean and at just the right temperature.
With a wide temperature range this air handler can handle cooling, heating, or dehumidifying your home with ease. This indoor unit has a variety of modes to fit your exact needs.
In AUTO mode, set the temperature on your thermostat for heating or cooling and the MrCool air handler will automatically operate based on your set temperature and the temperature within the room.
In SLEEP mode, the air handler will increase when cooling or decrease when heating by 2°F per hour for the first two hours. The unit will then stay at the new temperature for six hours before SLEEP mode switches off. With this mode, you can save money while you sleep!
Use the TIMER mode for optimal operation to limit your energy use and save on your electricity bill.
When this unit is in COOL, DRY, or AUTO mode, the anti-mildew function kicks in and continues to run for about 10 minutes with low airflow. This feature dries up condensation inside the air handler to prevent mildew growth. Plus, you can easily control the direction of airflow in your room using the remote to adjust the vertical louver on the unit. Your MrCool air handler will memorize your settings and return to them while it operates. If your power is interrupted with a blackout, your air conditioner will stop, but it will automatically restart and resume its previous function once power returns. No need to reset the setting on your thermostat!
Stay informed on how your split system is working with the 12k BTU MrCool DIY 3rd Gen Ductless Air Handler. If your outdoor unit leaks refrigerant, the indoor unit will display an alert on your air handler. With this feature you can be aware when your unit needs maintenance and keep maintenance costs low.
Your 12k BTU MrCool DIY 3rd Gen Ductless Air Handler can also remind you when the air filter needs cleaning, making sure the air you breathe is always fresh. After 240 hours of operation, the display on the air handler will show an alert for you to clean the filter, which is easy to remove and clean. Plus, after nearly 3,000 hours of operation, the MrCool air handler will remind you to replace the air filter so it can continue to operate efficiently.
