Iowa native George Foerstner started the Amana tradition in 1934 with a dependable beverage cooler. The company soon expanded to home appliance products like the Radarange countertop microwave, refrigerators, and, of course, heating and air conditioning equipment. Today, Amana is an internationally recognized brand, but manufacturing assembly is still performed in America thanks to facilities in Tennessee and Texas.
