Since it is meant for a do-it-yourself product, the 9k 12k & 18k BTU MrCool DIY Ductless Split System Line Set is user-friendly and easy to install. It comes pre-charged and sealed from the factory with the correct amount of R-410A refrigerant. It features Quick Connect fittings, so that it can plug in easily to both the air handler and the condenser without losing charge or being exposed to environmental contaminants. To make the seal complete, all you need are a few wrenches and a hex key.

The 9k 12k & 18k BTU MrCool DIY Ductless Split System Line Set features a 1/4 inch liquid line and a 1/2 inch suction line. It weighs approximately 10 lbs. It is currently available in 16 and 25 foot increments. Should you need less length for your installation, simply bundle the excess into a loose coil and store it near the condenser.

Q & A

Do you have questions about this product?

Sort by ASC
Does this allow you to extent a mini split from the standard 25' to an additional 16' (41' total)?
Since you don't have a quick connect adapter yet, how does a person connect two lines to complete a run?
I understand the pipes are 1/4" and 1/2" but what is the overall measurement of each with the insulation on them?
Was told my manufacturer tech support that you now have a line set extension for their diy system. Can this part be used to extend the stock 25 foot line set that comes with the unit?
If I decide to move the unit to another place after installation, when I disconnect the lines, will the refrigerant stay inside the lines and can I use them again in the new location?
Are there any concerns specific to the DIY line sets with regards to routing it to the exterior as instructed, then up into the attic through soffit vents for the majority of the run, then eventually going back down further in the home to the condenser unit outside? Other than to avoid sags/droops/traps?
Does this include a drain extension and wiring extension?
Does the 9k 12k & 18k BTU MrCool DIY Ductless Split System Line Set also include the control wire. If not, where can that be purchased?
On the line set that you will coil up by the condenser unit can it be standing up right or will it need to be laying flat
Because of oil trapping in the line set
Are these lines charged like the ones the system comes with?
Can more than one line set be connected together to go further distances?
I plan to install the unit on an outside wall in my bedroom and put the outdoor unit directly on the opposite side. The unit comes with 25' line set. What do I do with the extra tubing, can it be coiled or routed up out and down in the vertical wire trough? Even if I pay extra for the 16' line set, It seems I'd have lots of extra tubing to deal with.
Will the 16 ft line set extension work with 4 zones 9k & 9k & 12k &12k 36btu system?
Watched an installation video of Mrcool and the guy recommended using nylog blue oil on the flair connections and threads. Is this recommended or not?

Also thinking of ordering the 16ft lines when I order my 12k mrcool.
With only 16 foot of line instead of the 25 foot will this cause it to have too much coolant using the shorter 16 foot lines?
Must the Mrcool DIY 12K indoor unit be installed up near the ceiling or could it be installed near the floor (under a window)? I grew up in a house where the heat vents were in the floor and have always preferred that to heat vents near the top of walls or in the ceiling, especially since heat rises - near the floor always seems chilly.
Does Mr Cool make a quick connect adapter to connect two line sets together? I may need more than 25' for one run on my 3 zone system.

Thanks
What is the fan level of the 9 & 12 unitd
I am putting in a few ductless systems in our house and the 25ft the system comes with will not be enough for 2 of the systems to reach to the main outdoor system. I was told to get couplers... which one of these am I supposed to get? or am I supposed to get both?

With a Mr Cool 12K system, can I use two 25' extensions along with the 25' line set that comes with the system to make a total run of 75 feet? I understand that I will need couplers also. Can the 12K unit handle a 75-foot line run without problems? I have heard conflicting opinions.
For line sets that are extended with couplers, how do you extend the control wire to the same distance?
To make reasonably tight 90-degree bends, can I cut back the insulation where I want to make a bend and use a standard tubing bender? In other words, is this made from copper tubing that should bend like standard refrigerant lines?

Thanks!
Besides the coupler kit, is there anything else that would need to be ordered to extend this? Communication wire or condensation drain line?
Do the Mrcool line sets include the couplers or do you have to purchase them seperately?
When will the quick connecting be available to purchase ,looking to place a order for 1-unit 27k BTU 22 SEER Multi-Zone MrCool DIY 2 Zone Ductless Heat Pump Split System - 12k+18k but need to extend the downstairs unit because the only location I can place the inside unit is the other side of house
Looking for longer than 25 ft refrigerant lines. The condenser will be mounted on the rear of our 5th wheel trailer with the inside unit over the door. Total run will be approximately 35 feet. Are longer lines available?
