Easy to Install, Easy to Use
The Smart Controller is ready to go right out of the box. And it's ridiculously easy to install. Lift the front cover of the air handler, insert the controller device into the attached port, follow the instruction to setup the app, and you're done. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes, and you'll be good to go!
But what if you already have a smart home device like Alexa or Google Assistant? Fortunately, the Smart Controller is compatible with both. Of course, you can always choose to use the Smart Controller independently should you wish to do so.

How low an exterior temp can mccool heat interior? For instance, the polar vortex happening now, can the unt keep up with the cold to keep interior warm?
It depends on the MRCOOL model. For example, the DIY will operate at around 60% capacity at 17 degrees and continue to function down to 5. But the Hyper Heat will work operate at higher capacity at 17, and then continue workings past 5. None of our heat pumps (or anyone else's for that matter) are rated to work in crazy Polar Vortex temperatures.
