Can you connect two pre-charged line sets together? My current installed mini-split is a 9K BTU Sanyo. If I buy a 12K BTU MrCool DIY line set, will the lines connect together?
No.
The MrCool DIY's pre-charged line sets can only connect to other pre-charged lines, and that's only with the coupler kit, and that's coming out this month. The coupler kit will be out and that will let you put two pre-charged line sets together but it would only work for MrCool DIY units. It wouldn't work for other Sanyo units or Mitsubishi or anything else.
That said, if you have a Sanyo unit and you need more line, you could call a tech and have him do that for you.

I did exactly this, I was given a daikin mini split and used brass flare to 3/8 and 3/4 pipe thread adapters on the compressor and indoor unit. I used the precharged mr cool line set to connect . I can email pics and parts used if needed, just let me know. Never vacc’d it and haven’t had problems for the last 2.5 years in central FL heat. I mean it’s just a line set what would be the difference if all mini splits came with the same fittings on the ends? I guess the HVAC techs would lose those $2k 2-3 hr easy installs.
