Can I Get A Shorter Lineset For My DIY? - Ask The Expert Episode 308
Today's question is pretty straightforward.
"Hey Dan. Can the DIY be ordered with a shorter lineset?"
It comes with a 16ft or 25 ft lineset. If you are wanting anything smaller than a 16 foot lineset, then you won't be able to get it since that is the shortest length.
If you want longer, then you can get a coupler kit to connect 2 linesets together.

Hey Dan, I have a Mrcool Universal complete system with the prechraged lines. I can hear the anti-kink springs vibrating. The concern is that this will wear through the copper pipe and loose the charge and the noise is annoying. Thoughts or known solution?

In my MrCool install, I had more line set than I needed. I just left the excess coiled behind the condenser. I am hoping that the coil does not cause a problem by trapping refrigerant oil.

While it is best to lay the line set horizontally, your line set should be fine.

They also come in 50' which is what I have on mine

The DIY's pre-charged line sets only come in 16' and 25' increments. If you have a 50' line set, it is more than likely that it is two 25' pre-charged line sets and a coupler kit to link the line sets together. But yes, because of the couplers, you are not limited to just 25' in length!

I installed a mr cool 4/5 ton ducted heat pump system and have it set to 4 ton. Ran great cooling all summer! Just started using it to heat, would it be beneficial to switch it to the 5 ton settings for heating?

If it ran well for cooling at the 4 ton setting, it should run well for heating at the 4 ton setting as well. There shouldn't be a need to change the capacity.
