What is a Furnace Integration Kit and Do I Need One?

What’s up, it’s John from The Cold Standard with IWAE back to talk to you about HVAC! Ok, so you have a central split AC system, but it doesn’t use an A2L refrigerant like R32 or R454B. Do you need to rip out your whole system to become R32 compatible? Great news. No!

In fact, there’s a specific product for this exact situation. It’s called a furnace mitigation board, and essentially, it works as a leak detection system for your current furnace and a new R-32 outdoor unit.

Goodman has a kit for this called the Dragonfly, which is what I've got right here.

This Dragonfly kit senses any leaks of refrigerant and communicates with your air handler to disperse the refrigerant, keeping the risk of igniting at bay.

I’ve got this Goodman Air Handler and Furnace here today, and this is a great example of the kind of system that would benefit from using the Dragonfly integration kit. Some manufacturers  have the mitigation board built into the system, so they don’t need an external mitigation board like the dragonfly. Goodman products, however, are the perfect use for an external kit like this one. If you’ve got questions on how to make your current system A2L compatible, chat with our experts here at Ingram’s.

So, if you’re interested in knowing more, or want to buy one today, hop over to iwae.com and you’ll find everything you need.
