In this episode, our expert, Dan Danowski explains what a heat pump is.
Video Script:
Oh, hey welcome to Ask the Expert. I'm the expert, Dan Danowski. Let's get to your questions about heating and air conditioning systems. Our first question is from Dan in Michigan. In parenthesis, he's in hiding, don't say "he's in Sheboygan."
Ok!
"What is a heat pump?" Dan asks.
A heat pump is basically an air conditioner with one big difference. An air conditioner can cool your home, a heat pump can heat and cool your home. So, how does it do that? We've already talked about how an air conditioner just moves heat out, right? It dehumidifies. A heat pump just does that but backwards.
They are really good if you live in places like Florida or Arizona, any place where you've got a mild winter. Or if you're somebody cooking meth in New Mexico. A heat pump is great!
They are very energy efficient. I like them. I gave one to my son. He's seven. Ok, thanks, I'm Dan bye!
