How to Install a Mini Split on a Vinyl Wall - Ask the Expert Episode 269

Today's question comes from Bob Paull. "Hey Dan, how do you mount a ductless mini split to a vinyl-sided wall?" Some people get a backing plate for the wall mount. Just get it made for the size you need, then you cut the vinyl for the size you need. Secure it to the wall. That's one way to do it. Generally, that's really the only way I know. You will likely want to get the vinyl cut away. Have more questions? Just put them in the comments below.

Have another question. I got the 18000 dyi mini installed. Easy to do and very happy with it. I live in the North east. Is more cost efficient to leave it on at the lowest heat temp or just turn it on when I want to use the garage.also is there a way to lower the temp below 60 Thanks Bob

Leave it on FP (Freeze Protection) mode. Then it will only work as necessary to keep the space above freezing.
