Thermostats come in a wide variety of options. When you buy a new air conditioning system it can be confusing to know which one to buy. Dan can help you figure out what to look for. Hey Dan, how do I know which thermostat to get with my new HVAC system? If you get a new heat pump or air conditioner, and you want to know what kind of thermostat you need to get. At the very least, you are going to need to get a thermostat that works with the different stages of heating and cooling. Let's say you get a two-stage heat pump, and it's got a heat strip. So, you have two stages of cooling and three stages of heating. So, you're going to need a thermostat that can do at least two stages of cooling and three stages of heating.
