Unboxing a MRCOOL DIY Ductless Mini Split

The MRCOOL DIY Ductless Mini Split comes with everything you need to install the unit yourself. This video shows everything that comes in the indoor unit box and the outdoor unit box. My husband and I were super excited when our MRCOOl DIY Ductless Mini Split arrived this week. It's the 12K size, which will be perfect for our back bedroom. It gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer. First, we have the larger box. This holds the outdoor condenser unit. You get the drain pip extender and the wall sleeve for your bundled cable and refrigerant piping to go through the wall when we install the unit. The black rubber pads will go on the feet of the unit. The smaller box contains the air handler. I can tell a lot of care has gone into the packaging because everything is really tight and secure. Right on top, we have a bag full of goodies. It also comes with a remote with batteries included. The remote is what you'll use to control the indoor unit. Also in the bag, you'll find the appropriate user manuals, the wall holder for the remote, and air filters. Something I'm really excited about is the wifi feature. You can use a mobile app to set the temperature in your home even if you aren't there. This unit looks really stylish and sleek. I like that it's going to look good in my room and it doesn't compromise my decorations or anything. It looks really modern and nice. The indoor unit is already connected to bundled piping which can extend up to 25 feet so that it makes it easy to place your indoor and outdoor unit wherever you'd like. The DIY Ductless Mini Split comes with a pre-charged refrigerant line so you don't have to have an HVAC technician come to your house and do that for you. That saves lots of money and unlike other units, if you install this yourself, it doesn't void the warranty. The metal part on the back of the air handler is the wall mounting plate, which is what you will use to mount it to the wall. Inside the box under the unit and bundled piping you'll find a wall template which will really help during the installation process. I'm so excited to get this installed in our back bedroom so we can finally get some temperature regulation in there.
