Will My Goodman Gas Furnace Work with a Nest Thermostat? - Ask the Expert Episode 204

Today's question is a simple one! "Hey Dan, would an 80K BTU 96% AFUE Goodman Gas Furnace work with my Nest thermostat?" Any normal central heating and air furnace, air conditioner heat pump, or package unit should work with a Nest thermostat. Nest is a smart thermostat. I think it's owned by Google. I'm not really sure these days. The thing is, for all the bells and whistles that come with it, it's just a normal thermostat. It will work with pretty much any central heating and air unit. So, yeah, your 80K Goodman gas furnace will work with it fine. Any installer should be able to hook it up. If it doesn't work, tell us about it! Have more questions? I cannot get power from the control board to the Nest thermostat. I have a C wire and have G to G, R to Rc, W to W1, and Y to Y1. 26.6VAC between C and R. Nest does not power on. Started with Ecobee and had same issue working with customer support for 2 hours so tried a Nest thermostat. Previous thermostat was battery powered programmable digital without using a C wire
