"Hey Dan. When it comes to positioning the condenser unit, I have seen a lot installed parallel to the structure. My thought is that this would restrict air flow and efficiency. What do you think?"
It could be if you get it too close to the house.
But as long as you install the condenser in line with the clearance requirements in the manual, it'll be fine.
