Can You Change the Auxiliary Heat from Heat Strips to Propane? - Ask the Expert Episode 150

There are many different forms of auxiliary heat like heat strips or a propane furnace.  But can you change from one to the other? Video Script So, today we have a question from Roger Hayden. "Hey Dan, I'm Roger Hayden, the famous motorcycle racer, recently retired. I installed a five ton 16 SEER two stage variable speed Goodman central heat pump split system. Is it possible to change the auxiliary heat from heat strips to propane? Or can I add a propane furnace to the system?" The auxiliary heat strips are electric, so you can't really change those to propane on a split system without a furnace on there. You could add a propane furnace, that would be your best bet to get propane in there. You could just call us and let us know what you need.
